Some final statements from the accuser and witnesses are now being released concerning the Ben Roethlisberger case. The statements describe the behavior of Big Ben and his entourage in the Georgia bar. More documents are here you can read as well.

Jerome Bettis told CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor on “The Early Show” Friday that the accusations against Roethlisberger “came as a shock” and are out of character for him. Bettis said that a suspension is needed, but does think Ben can repair his image over time.

Hines Ward has come out and said he will retire after one more Super Bowl ring. While I hope that the next ring comes this season, I hope he reconsiders and at least tries to play out his contract. He is the brightest and one of the most recognizable face of the organization right now and everything the Steelers organization embodies. Ward has also now chimed in sort of on the Ben Roethlisberger situation.

You need some football, you say? Well some photos from the latest OTA are up on No football involved, but at least it does point to football being right around the corner.

The final nugget today is a poll. Plain and simple. Do you think the Steelers should trade Ben Roethlisberger?

As more details of this case come out, Ben is looking more and more of a scrumbag as a person.

I’m not saying dump him for whatever they can get, like they did with Santonio, but if someone comes up with a fantastic offer, it should be considered.

If the Steelers wait until he has one more “incident”, at that point they would get nothing for him – like what the Falcons got for Vick.

It’s extremely disappointing to me. I love Ben as a player.

p.s. just a minor tidbit – if you go to the roster, it shows they gave #26 to Will Allen, so it looks like Deshea Townsend is done as a Steeler.

This situation is awful, and I am sure I’m one of the many people who considered it a pleasure to watch our quarterback go to great heights.

This will no longer be a pleasure to watch Ben throw. He’s simply embarrassing now.

It infuriates me that the Steelers need to deal away such a talent and a person who could have been remembered as one of the more unique play styles at the franchise position. Now he’ll be remembered, certainly, but not for anything but a couple of super bowl rings tarnished with crime.

Try to get a top 5 selection in this draft, some cash, and pick our heads up – that’s what I voted for.
