Steelers Six From Around The Web – Tuesday August 10th – LeBeau Holds Court Edition

Defensive Coordinator and newly inducted Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau returned to his coaching duties on Monday and spoke with the Pittsburgh media for the first time since his induction speech. He held court as only he can hold and turned an after practice interview into a must see. What a great man he is.

Mark Kaboly talked to linebackers coach Keith Butler, who is rumored to be the heir apparent at defensive coordinator when Dick LeBeau finally retires in 25 more years. I am kidding about 25 years, but judging by his HOF speech, it is too early to even suggest when he might retire. Age is just a number.

Dale Lolley wrote about the double digit sack quest of Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons in the Observer Reporter this morning. We did a great breakdown of Timmons as well last week if you missed it.

Scott Brown gives a closer look at second year, undrafted Steelers running back Isaac Redman. Redman admits he arrived at St. Vincent College in less than stellar football shape, last year and almost failed the conditioning test. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has said Redman is the best running back in pass protection right now as well as Redman looks to crack the 53 man roster this Summer.

Former Steelers offensive linemen Darnell Stapleton and Cameron Stephenson found jobs on Monday. Stapleton signed with the Patriots while Stephenson signed with the Chargers. They both will be hard pressed though to make the opening day rosters.
