Steelers Top Plays Of The 2010 Season

Ok, we have a break before the Steelers play in the playoffs so this will be a post I will update over the week with the top plays of 2010. To save some time, this will be a rolling post I will update with the top 3 plays of each week. Many of the suggestions came from you on Twitter. Each link will open up in a new window so you can watch the replay on NFL.com. When I have gone through all 16 games, I will put up a poll so you can vote on your favorite play and we will then form a top 10 list based on those votes.

Week 1 Atlanta Falcons

#1 Steelers WR Mike Wallace brings in a 52-yard reception from Dennis Dixon in the 3rd quarter.

#2 Steelers safety Troy Polamalu picks off Matt Ryan in the 4th quarter.

#3 Rashard Mendenhall seals a Steelers victory in overtime on this 50-yard touchdown run.

Week 2 Tennessee Titans

#4 Antonio Brown returns opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown.

#5 Troy Polamalu shows why he\’s one of the best in the business anticipating the snap and making a tackle for a loss.

#6 James Harrison and company sack Vince Young with a little something extra.

Week 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

#7 Charlie Batch goes deep and connects with Mike Wallace in the end zone for a 46-yard TD against the Bucs.

#8 Steelers Mike Wallace gets a tipped TD catch off the fingers of Bucs CB Aqib Talib.

#9 DE Brett Keisel nabs a tipped pass and takes it with an armada of Steelers 79 yards to the end zone.

Week 4 Baltimore Ravens

#10 Joe Flacco tries to hit Derrick Mason along the sideline but instead finds Ike Taylor who brings down the INT.

#11 Steelers linebacker James Harrison rocks Willis McGahee and the Steelers defense recovers the fumble.

#12 Rashard Mendenhall beats the Ravens defense to the outside for a 7-yard TD to take the lead in the 4th quarter.

Week 6 Cleveland Browns

#13 Steelers LB James Harrison puts an end to the Wildcat after hitting Browns WR Joshua Cribbs.

#14 Ben Roethlisberger throws his first touchdown since returning from a suspension, a 29-yard strike to Mike Wallace.

#15 Deebo checks back in and introduces himself to Browns WR Mohamed Massaquoi. This play will go down as one of the most talked about from the 2010 season as a whole.

Week 7 Miami Dolphins

#16 Ben Roethlisberger throws deep and connects with Mike Wallace for a 53-yard touchdown.

#17 Hines Ward makes a catch and breaks a couple of tackles on his way to a 21-yard touchdown behind rookie Emmanuel Sanders block.

#18 Bryant McFadden and LaMarr Woodley separate Dolphins WR Brian Hartline from the football and it pops up and into the arms of James Farrior for an interception.

Week 8 New Orleans Saints

#19 Steelers DB Bryant McFadden strip-sacks Saints QB Drew Brees Steeler LB LaMarr Woodley recovers it.

#20 Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall busts one up the right sideline and scores on a 38-yard touchdown run.

#21 Steelers CB Ike Taylor intercepts Saints QB Drew Brees and returns it 9-yards.

Week 9 Cincinnati Bengals

#22 Ben Roethlisberger hands off to Antwaan Randle El who throws a deep pass to Mike Wallace for the touchdown.

#23 Carson Palmer throws an errant pass on third-and-13 and it is intercepted by Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons.

#24 William Gay comes untouched and blocks the punt by Bengals punter Kevin Huber.

Week 10 New England Patriots

#25 WR Emmanuel Sanders scores the Steelers first touchdown of the night on a 6-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger.

#26 Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger hits WR Mike Wallace for a 32-yard touchdown strike.

#27 Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall busts loose on a 34-yard run in the second quarter vs. the Patriots.

Week 11 Oakland Raiders

#28 Mike Wallace breaks loose and scores on a 52-yard catch-and-run touchdown.

#29 Troy Polamalu makes a break on the ball and gets the interception on a Bruce Gradkowski pass attempt.

#30 James Harrison makes a great interception of a short pass by Raiders QB Jason Campbell.

Week 12 Buffalo Bills

#31 Troy Polamalu intercepts a tipped pass by Bills WR Steve Johnson, ending a potential scoring drive by Buffalo. Bonus missed Casey Hampton chest bump at end as well.

#32 Steelers LB James Harrison hits Bills WR Lee Evans hard and forces a turnover in the third quarter that is recovered by Troy Polamalu.

#33 Ben Roethlisberger escapes a tackle and runs for a key first down on third-and-18 on a busted up foot.

Week 13 Baltimore Ravens

#34 Isaac Redman catches a short pass from Ben Roethlisberger and rumbles his way for a 9-yard touchdown to give Pittsburgh a win.

#35 Troy Polamalu sacks Joe Flacco on a blitz and forces a fumble with a chop to the arm that is recovered by LaMarr Woodley.

#36 Ben Roethlisberger makes an athletic play to get away from Terrell Suggs and throw the ball away to avoid a sack.

Week 14 Cincinnati Bengals

#37 Troy Polamalu intercepts a Carson Palmer pass and runs 45 yards and finishes with a diving touchdown.

#38 LaMarr Woodley intercepts a Carson Palmer pass and runs 14 yards for a touchdown.

#39 Hines Ward moves past Art Monk and is now the 10th all-time receptions leader with this catch.

Week 15 New York Jets

#40 Ben Roethlisberger pass deep middle to Emmanuel Sanders to convert a 3rd and 24 on the final drive to try to win game.

#41 Flozell Adams shows off his ball carrying moves after picking up a Ben Roethlisberger fumble following a sack.

#42 Ben Roethlisberger fires a perfect pass to TE Matt Spaeth for a rare Spaeth touchdown.

Week 16 Carolina Panthers

#43 Ben Roethlisberger connects with WR Mike Wallace for a 43-yard TD against the Panthers.

#44 Mike Wallace makes a great sideline catch for a 40-yard gain against the Panthers.

#45 Bryant McFadden picks off Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen with a nice diving grab.

Week 17 Cleveland Browns

#46 Troy Polomalu times the snap, jumps over the offensive and defensive lines nearly sacking Browns QB Colt McCoy.

#47 Mike Wallace pulls down a 56-yard touchdown pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger on the Steelers\’ first offensive play of the game.

#48 Antwaan Randle El hits WR Hines Ward on a 3-yard touchdown pass on a trick play.
