Steelers Six From Around The Web – Tuesday February 22nd – Surgery Has Successful James Harrison Edition
Mike Tomlin met with reporters on Monday and gave answers to several questions. He stated he is not close to hiring a secondary coach yet and hasn’t given up on Keenan Lewis or Limas Sweed as of yet. Ed Bouchette has the full Q & A also on his blog.
Steelers linebacker James Harrison underwent successful lower back surgery to remove a piece of herniated disc off a nerve on Monday. Dr. Joseph Maroon was allowed to live. Harrison was to have the surgery last week, but had to wait until a fever went down. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Although no details were once again given, Steelers quarterback and team union rep Charlie Batch emerged from a fourth consecutive day of federally mediated negotiations between the NFL and NFLPA with a smile saying only that things are going well right now. Hopefully that is more than just his optimistic nature presenting itself.

Episode #39 of the Terrible Podcast is up and we were lucky enough to have former Steelers running back Verron Haynes on for a pretty lengthy interview in part 2.
Craig Wolfley blogged about how he and Tunch Ilkin used their offseason to learn how to incorporate martial concepts to offensive line play. Another great story by Wolf.
