Steelers Six From Around The Web – Thursday March 17th – See Rashard Twitter Edition

Scott Brown has the run down of running back Rashard Mendenhall and his support via his Twitter account of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and his analogy between the NFL and the slave trade. I have a sneaky feeling that Mendenhall will soon disappear from Twitter like Ryan Clark did a short time ago. 140 characters is hard to get your point across in. The media loves that kind of stuff.

Pat Kirwan has the Steelers taking old man Danny Watkins in his latest mock draft and Steeler Nation heads exploded around the world. I wrote a piece for the haters last night on Watkins and whether or not he is too old for the Steelers to draft.

Bob Labriola has a great piece on new defensive backs coach Carnell Lake at Steelers.com. Some great talk about his playing days as well.

Steelers reps were of course at the Penn State Pro Day on Wednesday as Evan Royster, Stefen Wisniewski, Brett Brackett, Ollie Ogbu and Lou Eliades went through the drills and work-outs.

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and Eagles quarterback Michael Vick are both endorsing titanium-based wristbands for Core Synergy according to Philadelphia Sports Daily and the Orlando Sentinel.

Here is a blast from the past. Remember when Steelers cornerback Deon Figures was shot in the left leg while driving in Los Angeles? The Steelers were forced to sign Alvoid Mays to replace him.
