Steelers Six From Around The Web – Thursday March 3rd – Hire Bruce Arians Edition

On Wednesday Mike Tomlin interviewed former Steelers safety Carnell Lake for the open defensive backs coaching job. Tomlin has been in no hurry to fill the position since Ray Horton left to take the Cardinals defensive coordinator position. Lake coached the defensive backs at UCLA for just one season as he stepped down because of family reasons.

In other Steelers not so earth shattering coaching news, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians signed his one-year contract with the Steelers on Wednesday. Arians was promoted from wide receivers coach to his current position in 2007. Suck it haters. lol I wonder if www.HireBruceArians.com is available? I bet it is.

On Wednesday, Steelers linebacker James Harrison had his second back surgery in two weeks. His agent confirmed that the procedure was minor and they don\'t expect any further complications.

Now that the NFL Combine is over, NFL.com Senior Analyst Gil Brandt has revisited his \'Hot 100\' prospects and has them broken down by tiers.

Lester Munson of ESPN brings you up to date on all the labor talks and how when the NFLPA decertifies, it will change things quite a bit. 11:59 p.m. ET Thursday is the dreaded deadline date we have all feared.

The vintage links today are dedicated to James Harrison. Here is the one sentence blurb at the end of the article of him signing back with the Steelers in the July 29, 2004 article in the Tribune Review and another just before the start of the 2004 season and right before the final roster cuts. Hard to believe that has been almost 7 years ago.

Guess you’re okay with Arians’ 23 point-per-game avg. as Steeler OC. Fact is: Steelers have been skating by offensively, winning mainly due to superior defensive play under DC Lebeau. They need to ramp things up on offense. Don’t see it happening under BC.

Eric, That is a HORRIBLE argument you present by boiling it down to just points. Please bring a better take next time as it makes you look bad.
