Steelers Six From Around The Web – Friday July 15th – Final Friday Of Lockout Edition


Steelers linebacker James Harrison released an apology type statement last night and several teammates have started to show their support of him.

The two sides agreed to rookie wage scale on Thursday and the lockout is getting ever so closer to ending. They also reached a tentative agreement to make the 2011 salary cap $120 million.

Steelers.com has another in a series of stories up chronicling the 52 playoff games in Steelers history and this week Craig Wolfley writes about the 1984 AFC Divisional Round win versus the Denver Broncos.

Adam Schein writes on FoxSports.com that the Rooneys need to take back their team in light of the recent off field problems.

    A $120 mil cap puts a hurtin’ on the Steelers since they are around $129 mil right now, and that’s before signing the 2011 draft class or any free agents like Ike Taylor, William Gay, Willie Colon, Chris Hoke, Jonathan Scott, Dan Sepulveda, Susiham, etc…

    This could be the end for Aaron Smith, Flozell, Randle-El, maybe Larry Foote, maybe a few others…
