Steelers Six From Around The Web – Monday July 25th – Hope Running Out In Tennessee Edition
Albert Breer reports that all what remains is “a few small points” in the language and the goal is for the NFLPA to be able to present the completed document to its 13-man executive committee today with a vote to follow. Breer reports that the doors would open Tuesday and teams will be allowed to sign draftees and rookie free agents. Free agency would then begin Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
The Titans could make veteran safety Chris Hope a salary cap causality over the next few days. Hope was a 3rd round draft pick of the Steelers back in 2002. I doubt he would stay on the market very long, so I doubt the Steelers have a chance at bringing him back. He would surely be a fit if he did return and provide better depth in my opinion.
Ravens safety Ed Reed is spouting off again on how dirty of a player Hines Ward is. Reed claims he dishes out shots that people can get up from, unlike Ward. Reed sounds like he is still very afraid of Ward.
Steelers safety Ryan Clark has a few quotes in an article on sickle cell awareness in the Orlando Sentinel. The condition almost killed Clark years ago in Denver.
Limas Sweed told an Austin television station last week that he is anxious to get back to work and show people what he is made of.
