Emmanuel Sanders Still Hopes To Make It Back For Steelers Final Preseason Game

Scott Brown is reporting via Twitter this afternoon that second year wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders told him that he is still hoping to make it back for the Steelers final preseason game against the Panthers. Sanders is still recovering from the left foot procedure he had early in training camp that required an injection of bone marrow and calcium to help speed up the healing process.

Sanders underwent two offseason foot surgeries to repair a broken right foot and a stress fracture in his left foot. The broken right foot occurred in the Super Bowl against the Packers and the stress fracture in the left was discovered afterwards.

The Steelers will take it slow with with Sanders despite the report last week that he could possibly return to practice this week. The Steelers agreed to terms with veteran receiver Jerricho Cotchery late last week as insurance and to add depth to the receiving corps.
