The Steelers wrapped up their second practice of the week on Thursday in preparation for their week 6 game this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Thursday injury report shows that defensive end Aaron Smith (foot), linebacker James Harrison (eye), guard Chris Kemoeatu (knee), tackle Marcus Gilbert (shoulder), nose tackle Casey Hampton (shoulder) and running back Mewelde Moore (ankle) all missed practice again today due to injuries. Mike Tomlin ruled out Smith and Harrison on Tuesday and it is not looking good for the others to play that have been sidelined this week as Kemoeatu was also ruled out on Thursday. Linebacker Jason Worilds (quad) was limited on Thursday after missing Wednesday. Cornerback Cortez Allen (ankle) was limited for a second straight day and safety Ryan Clark (quad) practiced fully after being limited on Wednesday. Wide receiver Hines Ward (not injury related) returned to practice after having Wednesday off and has been removed from the injury report. Rashard Mendenhall was a full go for a second straight day and he will start Sunday against the Jaguars.
For the Jaguars on Thursday, RB Montell Owens (knee), LB Clint Session (elbow) and G Jason Spitz (quadricep) all missed a second straight day of practice. CB Derek Cox (groin) was limited Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. CB Drew Coleman (head), TE Zach Miller (shoulder), T Eugene Monroe (shoulder), WR Kassim Osgood (hamstring), LB Daryl Smith (head) and T Guy Whimper (hip) were all limited for a second straight day. DT Tyson Alualu (knee), S Courtney Greene (neck), WR Jason Hill (thigh) and DE Aaron Kampman (knee) all practiced fully after being limited on Wednesday.
