The Terrible Podcast – Steelers Cardinals Preview Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 2, Episode 33 of The Terrible Podcast is up and being as my co-host David Todd is still out in Las Vegas doing things that grown people do when they go out there, I am joined once again by Nick Richetta. Make sure to follow Nick on Twitter at @SteelCityKid117 and thank him for sitting in this week.

Nick and I open the Friday show by going over the final injury report of the week and the promotion of Corbin Bryant to the active roster before the Steelers leave out for Arizona. We both agree it is highly unlikely that Bryant sees the field much, if any, and that that the bulk of the work on the defensive line will go to Ziggy Hood, Brett Keisel, Steve McLendon and Cameron Heyward. We also get back into the discussion of Jason Worilds and both hope he gets to start on Sunday despite being listed as questionable.

Next up is more Ben Roethlisberger long ball talk as it relates to accuracy. We have been beating this horse for a while, but it is important and relevant in our eyes. We transition into our breakdown of the game this Sunday and talk about the keys to the game for the Steelers on both offense and defense. We talk about the big plays the Cardinals defense have given up this year on defense and if they will let rookie Patrick Peterson cover Mike Wallace on Sunday.

The breaking news comes across during the show that Troy Polamalu was fined 10K for use of a cell phone on the sideline this past Sunday and we both agree that we are not too surprised by the news.

As always on Friday, we end with our picks of all the games this week and give our score predictions for the Steelers Cardinals game in addition.

As always, thanks for listening and don\’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.
  • Steelerz357

Good Stuff as always Dave. I agree #7 needs to hit more long/intermediate routes that have been open. In regards to the stats though – they are just that – Stats. Keep in mind as mitigating factors: BigBen playing with a bum foot a couple of weeks, getting shelled by pass rush (Led the league in times being hit/hurried/sacked 1st 3 road games), WR’s like a Brown and Sanders running bad routes or not being on same page at times.

All that being said – this year more than ever is important on hitting the big plays since teams will catch on that the Steelers are not consistent enough on offense to dink and dunk – and/or run their way down the field.

PS: Love your O.S.S. comment (Oh Sh*t Speed)
