Season 2, Episode 29 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I open with a look at the injury report as delivered by Mike Tomlin at his Tuesday press conference. This week\’s presser lacked some of the surprise of weeks past, which is a good thing if you are a Steelers fan. The only real injury to come out of Sunday\’s contest was the Marcus Gilbert re-injuring his right shoulder. Gilbert and a host of other Steelers are questionable for Sunday\’s contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. We go through the list and try to read the tea leaves, giving our thoughts on who will play and who won\’t.
The bigger question that has surfaced this week after Sunday\’s impressive win is: Are starting positions up for grabs? The performances of Issac Redman, Ziggy Hood and Ramon Foster among others have caused a lot of speculation about who should be playing when everyone is healthy. David and I discuss this at length. We wrap up Part 1 with a look at the schedule and how to figure out if the Steelers are a “good” team and who else in the league falls into that category. We also re-visit the whistle debacle on the false start early in the game and how Tomlin has a legitimate beef.
In Part 2 of the podcast I talked with Jaguars beat writer and former Pittsburgh Press writer Vito Stellino. Vito updates me with an early look at the Jaguars injury situation heading into the game and we talk about the Jaguars offense and defense. I also ask old school Vito how he is adapting to the social media world and his thoughts on the recent passing of Raiders owner Al Davis. You can read the work of Vito and his coverage of the Jaguars at http://jacksonville.com/authors/vito-stellino-0 and follow him on Twitter at @vitostellino. We appreciate him taking time to be a guest this week.
