Update: Steelers LB James Harrison Likely Out 4-6 Weeks

Updating the previous reports on injured linebacker James Harrison, Ed Bouchette is reporting via Twitter that Harrison could be out anywhere from 4-6 weeks. Harrison will have surgery on Wednesday to repair his fractured right orbital bone that suffered Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Harrison is believed to have suffered the injury during a helmet-to-helmet hit by Texans tackle Duane Brown. According to Harrison, the forehead pad in his helmet came down on the hit and hit him in his eye. Harrison suffered blurred vision following the hit and many speculated that he had suffered a concussion. Harrison was able to return to the game.

The Steelers will likely have a better idea of the amount of time Harrison will miss following his surgery. Should Harrison indeed miss a full 6 weeks it would likely mean he will be out until after the Steelers bye week which is week 11. Should the injury only keep him out 4 weeks, he could possibly return for either the week 9 game against the Ravens or the week 10 game against the Bengals.
