Todd Haley Says Tyler Palko Will Start Sunday Night Against Steelers
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley announced Thursday that quarterback Tyler Palko will start Sunday night against the Steelers despite the team claiming quarterback Kyle Orton off waivers from the Broncos on Wednesday.
Orton has not yet reported to the Chiefs because of family matters, but is expected to be in Kansas City on Friday. Even though Palko will be making his second career start, Haley did not rule out the possibility of Orton playing in the game against the Steelers, as Orton does have some familiarity with the Chiefs offense.
Should Orton not be able to get up to speed over the next few days, rookie Ricky Stanzi would serve as the team’s primary backup Sunday night.
