When you give these lists, can you give us the “experts” predicted rounds that each guy is supposed to be drafted in?

  • BigY

DB, Really like WR T.Y. Hilton.. Could you please let us know where is he projected and share any of your thoughts on him & Adams as well? Sorry if I have missed any previous posts re: these 2.. Thanks Dave!

We talked about them on the podcast today. Hilton likely a late 4th to 6th round guy. Blazing speed, but struggles with press. Can return kicks. Mostly lines up in slot. Good character kid.

Adams could be a head case. He is not ready to play LT at the next level, but could develop. He is able to get down field. Agile for a guy his size. Likely an early 2nd round pick.

I like this Derek Wolfe guy. Got decent speed, and he had 32 reps in bench press which is good. This guy could develope into a Arron Smith type guy.

Thanks Dave.. Sorry I missed the podcast.. I appreciate the feedback & agree 100% on Adams. I would hate to see the Steelers reach for him at #24 – If he is their guy (which I doubt, BTW) it would certainly make sense for them to trade out of the 1st round..

I can’t help but think they take the highest rated player on their board – regardless of position – with their #1. I really liked your latest mock – wouldn’t have a problem with that playing out one bit. I am very interested to see how (if) they address the safety position. Really like our young CB’s from last year, but I gotta think they start looking at Safety at some point – especially with the hybrid TE’s becoming all the rage in the passing game… It should be a very interesting draft.

Thanks again and keep up the great work…!

If you go back and look at 2010 and 2011, it’s a pretty safe bet that 2, 3, 4 of the guys on this list will be in Latrobe in August.

  • Dave

FYI – Toney Clemons is from New Kensington PA and went to Valley HS, so he will actually count as a local vist, just like Rob Gronkowski (Woodland Hills HS) in 2010

There are several tantalizing options on this list. I got sort of an evil scientist grin on my face while reading it lol. If the Steelers draft T.Y. Hilton it will be CURTAINS for the leagues DB’s. CURTAINS I tell you lol

No QBs or Safeties brought in as pre-draft visits and only two RBs. Is this simply smokescreen?

Steelers 2012 Pre Draft Visits

The Steelers have now started to bring 2012 draft prospects in for pre draft visits as of last week. NFL teams are allowed to host 30 non local prospects prior to the draft. Below is a running list of players we have confirmed have been scheduled for visits as of March 27th. We will use this as our official Steelers pre draft visit list much like we did last season with the Steelers 2011 pre draft visits and will update this list as the visits happen or more are announced. Make sure to bookmark this page. So far we know that the Steelers have hosted several of the University of Pittsburgh players and they do not count against the 30 allowed pre draft visits. We do not know exactly which Pittsburgh players visited exactly, so I will list the top ones that I assume visited the Southside.
