Mike Wallace Is Back With The Steelers

He\’s finally arrived. Several members of the Pittsburgh media are reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace has arrived Tuesday morning at the teams practice facility.

Wallace is expected to sign his one-year, $2.74 million restricted tender today, but likely will not be allowed to practice with the team until after the Thursday night preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers.

Wallace has remained very quiet this offseason in regard to his contract situation. Instead, he let his actions speak louder than words by not signing his tender and thus not participating in any of the offseason OTA sessions, the minicamp or training camp, as he was not under contract to do so.

The Steelers have held the bargaining power with Wallace ever since he received no offer sheets during the free agent signing period. While Wallace was reported by one San Francisco 49ers beat writer as wanting Larry Fitzgerald money this offseason, those words were never spoken by him or his agent Bus Cook.

With Wallace now back in the fold the Steelers will likely try to hammer out a long-term deal with the former third round draft pick between now and the start of the regular season.
