Breaking Down The Two Heath Miller Touchdowns Versus The Raiders
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller caught two more touchdowns Sunday in the loss to the Oakland Raiders and they might be two of the easiest of his career. Below are some quick breakdowns of the plays along with the animated gifs.
On the first touchdown, wide receiver Antonio Brown essentially draws the attention of cornerback Michael Huff and safety Tyvon Branch and linebacker Philip Wheeler as Miller just drifts out into the flat towards the pylon. Tackle Marcus Gilbert does just enough to keep Raiders defensive end Dave Tollefson wide and out of the passing lane with his drop and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger puts the ball right on the money for the easy score.
On the second touchdown, Roethlisberger sells the play-action to Isaac Redman very well, while the whole Steelers front carries out the run fake. Even guard Willie Colon is pulling to the right on the play. Miller still has to get open and he carries out his run block on Branch brilliantly before releasing inside on the slant. This is an easy toss for Roethlisberger. Max Starks does a great job of keeping defensive tackle Richard Seymour off of the back of Roethlisberger as well.
