Cowboys Likely To Lose WR Dez Bryant For The Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Dallas on Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys, who now appear like they might be without their star wide receiver Dez Bryant.

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News is reporting Monday afternoon that Bryant injured his left index finger Sunday in the Cowboys win over the Cincinnati Bengals and that injury might require him being shut down for the season. Bryant reportedly is scheduled to visit a hand specialist this week.

This is of course a huge blow to the Cowboys and a big break for the Steelers, who will once again be without the services of cornerback Ike Taylor.

Bryant has 75 catches for 1028 yards and 9 touchdowns on the season and that is certainly tough to replace.

Thoughts on trading Ben for Dez and promoting Baron Batch to the active roster as a qb…?

Big difference to Steelers who would have to do everything possible to make sure Curtis Brown or Victorian dont have to cover Bryant -whom out-physicals anyone on over-the-shoulder catches. If man-to-man coverage, I assume Keenan or Cortez would therefore be assigned to Dez, but their 2 other receivers are big too: Harris & Austin. Need Clark to play as well as he has all year, against Jason Whitten, because dunno if Polamalu yet has his legs enough to cover Whitten..

If he is indeed out, that surely helps our cause

I’m not ready to give up on C.Brown just yet, he has barely seen the field on Defense so far in his career and has almost no in-game experience. Dont forget K.Lewis used to get burned all the time too.. the Steelers seem to need 2-3yrs to groom their DB’s, even Ike Talyor was raw when drafted (4th Rd) and played primarily on special teams his first 2yrs in the League

I just read Jerry Jones said the decision to play or have surgery is on Dez’ at this point. Well, Bryant has already said he wants to play, so he’ll be starting this wkend. Does anyone else think the way Jones does business is just completely ridiculous and unprofessional. Jason Garrett, the head freagin coach, already came and said that the decision would be based on the medical findings and doctors recommendations and then Jones comes out and spews out the mouth about it being up to Bryant if he wants to play or not. No wonder Dallas is so disfunctional
