Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey & TE Heath Miller Selected To 2013 AFC Pro Bowl Team

It was announced on Wednesday that Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and tight end Heath Miller have been selected to the 2013 AFC Pro Bowl team.

This is the third straight selection of Pouncey, who led the fan voting in the AFC at the center position, to the annual All-Star game. The Steelers 2010 first-round draft pick started 14-of-15 games this season, including one at left guard and will be the starting center for the AFC on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

It was the second Pro Bowl selection for Miller, who unfortunately will not get to play in the game after suffering a serious knee injury last Sunday in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers veteran tight end had a team-high 71 receptions and a career-best 816 receiving yards after 15 games to go along with 8 touchdowns, which was also a career high for him.

I understand Lewis not making. But Cromartie? Really?

Good for Heath. Well deserved. His knee injury has me a bit concerned though, as he is now on the wrong side of 30. The Steelers need to draft a pass catching TE (a la Gronk, Gates, Hernandez) in the next 2 or 3 years.

Lewis is currently tied for most pass defenses in the League.. he, Clark and Timmons all got snubbed. How does a Team with such a good Defense and such a mediocre Offense get no Defensive players voted in???

I agree.. I commented on another article, even with Heath and Paulson playing very well I think they will draft another TE next year. Pope cant block and he got beat out by Paulson and McCoy is nothing more than a PSquad player. The bright side is Will Johnson played very well and should be back next year, but he’ll be the Fullback/H-Bck/TE hybrid guy. They’ll need another true TE
