According to recent sales figures from NFLShop.com, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had the top selling jersey last year, while the San Francisco 49ers had the highest teams sales. In fact, Griffin’s jersey sales set an all-time record.
As far as the Pittsburgh Steelers go, they finished fifth in team sales and safety Troy Polamalu finished 17th overall in individual sales. He was the only Steelers player to crack the top 25. Since coming into the league in 2003, Polamalu has normally finished in the top 10 every year.
Just two years ago at this time, the Steelers had six players in the top 25.
This year, as you can imagine, quarterbacks top the list, as seven make up the top ten. The Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens came in second to the 49ers in team sales, and their now retired linebacker, Ray Lewis, came in third in individual sales.
