Steelers Sign Seventh-Round Draft Pick DE Nick Williams On Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers continued their barrage of draft pick signings on Monday as it is now being reported that seventh-round draft pick Nick Williams has agreed to terms.

Williams played defensive tackle at Samford and has already started the process of becoming a defensive end in the Steelers 3-4 system. Steelers defensive line coach John Mitchell made it a point to say after the selection of Williams that he would more than likely not play during his rookie season. Mitchell went on to call Williams a project, but that he has great athletic ability for a player of his size.

Terms of the four-year contract are unknown, but Williams deal will likely total out at around $2.2195 million and include a signing bonus of around $59,500.

Earlier on Monday it was announced that the team had signed their first and second-round picks, linebacker Jarvis Jones and running back Le\’Veon Bell, so that should leave quarterback Landry Jones as the only unsigned draft pick at this point.
