Steelers LB Stevenson Sylvester Leaves Giants Game With Ankle Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Stevenson Sylvester has left the game against the New York Giants with a right ankle injury and is doubtful to return.

Sylvester was injured when rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton flew into his legs after the linebacker made a tackle covering a punt in the second quarter.

Sylvester has battled several injuries over the course of his first three seasons in the league. Last season he missed the final three preseason games and the start of the regular season after injuring a knee during practice.

Really dumb by Wheaton. He hit him after he made the tackle and stood back up. Wish I could see the replay to see if he was pushed into him or not.

Well damn… it didn’t look too serious, he ran off the field with just a slight limp, hopefully nothing major

On a side note M.Mcfadden and Vince looked pretty good out there together.. and Brian Rolle has been all over the place

I don’t believe he was pushed, but I will let you know when I get a chance to see it again. Agreed, though, on initial viewing…dumb. Dumb and unfortunate. Especially coming off of a nice ST tackle for Sly. Hopefully he can get back in there next week.

Impressed with Williams in his first action. Had to get in there a little earlier than intended. Seemed like all the ILBs overall had a solid showing, including Garvin and Wilson.

  • Shannon Stephenson

Saw Wilson’s number all over the field.
