Steelers RB Le\’Veon Bell Suffered A Mid-Foot Injury – Post Game Injury Report

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their second consecutive preseason game of the 2013 season 24-13 to the Washington Redskins Monday night and head coach Mike Tomlin updated the injury situation during his post game press conference.

According to Tomlin, rookie running back Le\'Veon Bell suffered a mid-foot injury in the first quarter and will be evaluated again on Tuesday. He reportedly will have an MRI. Tomlin also said running back LaRod Stephens-Howling (knee strain) was held out of the game due to a knee strain, but added the injury is not a major one.

During the game, running back Baron Batch (stinger) was sidelined with a stinger, while fullback Will Johnson (rib) left the game with a rib injury.

The Steelers are certainly banged up at the running back position as Isaac Redman (stinger) also sat out the game with a stinger he suffered last week in practice.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.
  • Henry

So…. all of our RBs are hurt besides Dwyer. Great

  • Matt Manzo

    Yeah! This is getting crazy!

  • Rubem Dornas

I’m worried about Bell. This kid can’t stay healthy? For God sake I hope this is not true.

  • steeltown

We should definitely trade Dwyer though…..

  • WilliamSekinger

uhh a knee bruise and a mid foot injury is not exactly earth shattering. He may miss some time with the mid foot, but it’s way too early to be worried.

  • Shannon Stephenson

    first chance we get….lol

  • Michael Pearce

Dwyer is our best RB right now and should be the starter on day one of the season.

  • gdeuce

I hope the mid foot is just a sprain and not worse

  • DerpinDickard

Im beginning to believe that there is a clause in every Steeler player contract that says that the player must get injured at least once during contract years. This is ridiculous but as long as things dont get as bad as they have with the Browns I guess Im fine.

  • lefnor

Yes, he hurt his foot on a pass route, this can be a typical lisfranc injury. I hope this is not that serious.

  • Jason Brant

He had some good runs last night. He also had some runs where he made poor reads. An odd performance, honestly.

  • Tom Savastano

Liberty Bell…Wasn’t Lacy the back in the draft with injury concerns.. Im hoping things turn around soon..go steelers!

  • treeher

Snake bit Steelers – draft the most durable running back in college and now he can’t even make it out of training camp.

  • Arthur Branch

Its the preseason Bell will be fine. I am more worried about the lack of blocking of the TE’s. Also Guy Whimper should have been cut before they left the locker room last night. He looked pitiful against the skins second and third units.

  • cencalsteeler

I’m afraid it’s a Lisfranc injury, it seems to be the latest craze in the NFL this year.

  • ATL96STEELER

I was in the Lacy camp, but Bell was the pick. At this point, they just need to get him ready to play real games. Dwyer, inspite of the fumble is showing he should be playing somewhere…maybe in PIT.

The OL looked shaky on the edges and C…Foster/DeCastro looked solid for the most part…just keep the reps coming.
