Steelers FB Will Johnson Leaves Game Against Panthers With A Hamstring Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers starting fullback Will Johnson has left the game tonight against the Carolina Panthers with a right hamstring injury and will not return.

Johnson limped off the field following the touchdown pass from quarterback Landry Jones to tight end David Paulson in the first quarter.

The Steelers are short enough already at the tight end position and they certainly cant afford to lose Johnson for an extended amount of time on top of it.

Mike Tomlin will likely address Johnson’s status following the game.

    Balls.

  • RW

Why in the world was he even out there?

  • Lamarr56

Why was he even playing? Smh.

  • pittsburghjoe

He played because it was a football game and as a result they needed players to participate.

  • Chad

He was sitting with ice for almost a quarter and then he limped off just before halftime. He had a lot of ice and a wrap around his right upper leg. Didn’t look good, but he was walking on his own at least.

Perhaps the one of the few players we could least afford to lose…this is very disappointing. If DJ is considered a TE/FB, he should have been getting some reps with the first team at FB and Will should have been in storage.

Does he even have a back-up?
