Steelers Fantasy Stat Projections Versus Bears – Week 3 – 2013

The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Chicago Bears Sunday night and below are my fantasy football stat projections for the black and gold offensive players.

Feel free to add your own projections in the comments below.

Ben Roethlisberger –  30 attempts, 21 completions, 253 yards, 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions.

The Steelers offense needs to stay out of third and long situations this week. Shorter throws on first and second downs combined with a better running game won’t result in big yards for Roethlisberger, but he should have a fairly decent day with two touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Felix Jones -16 carries, 64 yards, no touchdowns, 1 receptions, 6 yards, no touchdowns.

Could simple be the trick Sunday night? Jones has been the best of the group so far and while he won’t likely set the fantasy world on fire, a four yard average would do wonders for the offense.

Isaac Redman – 7 carries, 28 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 reception, 6 yards, no touchdowns.

Even though Jones will start, he will need to be spelled during the game. Redman could steal a one-yard touchdown in this game and that would be the Steelers first rushing touchdown of the season.

Jonathan Dwyer – 2 carries, 5 yards, no touchdowns, 0 reception, 0 yards, no touchdowns.

I only see Dwyer receiving minimal carries in this game. If he sees more than a few, it likely means that Jones and the offensive line aren’t having a good game.

Antonio Brown – 4 catches, 89 yards, 1 touchdown

He wants the damn ball but there is only one of them to go around. He will have to settle for a damn touchdown.

Emmanuel Sanders – 5 catches, 55 yards, no touchdowns

Could more time in the slot actually help him? Watch where he lines up in three wide receiver sets. He has a great catch radius and can run the option route almost as good as Hines Ward could.

Markus Wheaton – 3 catches, 33 yards, no touchdowns

Wheaton should see more playing time this week in three receiver sets and should finally get his name on the stat sheet as a result.

Jerricho Cotchery – 2 catches, 14 yards, no touchdowns

Cotchery will give up some playing time to Wheaton this week but still should be good for a few third down catches nonetheless.

Heath Miller –  3 catches, 33 yards, 1 touchdown

Miller hopefully makes his return not only to the field, but the end zone as well.

Will Johnson – 1 catch, 10 yards, no touchdowns

It’s about time they throw to their pass catching fullback. I would like to see three targets for three receptions, but will hold my breath until it happens.

David Paulson – 1 catch, 7 yards, no touchdowns

Hopefully Paulson holds onto this one catch on his way to the ground.
