According to the official race results, Ward was the 1,680th athlete to cross the finish line after swimming 2.4-miles, biking 112 miles and running a full 26.2-mile marathon.

Following the race, Ward thanked his trainer and a higher power.

"God is good! Trust me, I kept talking to The Lord to help me get through the marathon."
