Jets Injury Report: WR Santonio Holmes Remains Sidelined With Hamstring Injury

The New York Jets will host the Pittsburgh Steelers this coming Sunday, but they will likely be without the services of wide receiver Santonio Holmes (hamstring) once again.

The Steelers former first-round draft pick missed practice again Wednesday with a strained hamstring that suffered during the loss to the Tennessee Titans a few weeks ago and the consensus seems to be that he will not be ready to play come Sunday.

Also sitting out Wednesday for the Jets were defensive end Quinton Coples (ankle), wide receiver Clyde Gates (knee), safety Jaiquawn Jarrett (knee), cornerback Dee Milliner (hamstring), running back Mike Goodson (illness), tight end Kellen Winslow (knee) and defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis (not injury related).

Limited for the Jets were offensive lineman Oday Aboushi (knee), running back Chris Ivory (hamstring) and cornerback Darrin Walls (shoulder).

Practicing fully were safety Antonio Allen (finger), guard Willie Colon (knee), cornerback Antonio Cromartie (hip) and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (shoulder).

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

I have never been so happy with a Steelers trade.

And do you know who the Steelers selected with that eventual pick? Antonio Brown…

Like last time they played. Holmes don’t wanna see Pittsburgh.

If you didn’t already know it, you’d never guess he was a superbowl MVP. Honest to god, he had a great game and that catch was amazing, but I thought it should have gone to Big Ben or Silverback

  • Chris Ranieri

JH would have been my pick. The defense carried that team all the way to the big game. It was poetic how the offense ended up sealing the deal, but the defense was just phenomenal. What a game.

  • Christopher Wilkes

Sorry guys. He’s gone, but that games performance will never be forgotten. Holmes was as clutch as clutch can be on that final drive, albeit he did drop the pass right before the one he caught for the TD. I woulda liked Ben to have taken the honors, but can’t blame the one who got it.

  • Johnny Loose

You don’t gotta apologize to me lol, trading him was the only way to go. Even if it was four a 6th rounder. Which turned out to be, well you know
