Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey Says His Knee Rehab Is Already Ahead Of Schedule

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey had his 2013 season come to an end after just eight offensive plays, but the former first-round draft pick said in a recent interview on steelers.com that his rehab is going well after having surgery to repair a torn MCL and ACL in his right knee.

“They’re telling me I’m ahead of schedule, but they have to tell me sometimes to crank it down, you know we’ve got a long time for you to get all the way back,” said Pouncey.

Pouncey said he’s back attending offensive line meetings again and that he plans on being on the sidelines this coming Sunday for the game against the Baltimore Ravens. It will be his first time doing so since suffering his injury.

“It’s harder to watch it when you’re at home and I think I do more screaming than anything when I’m mad at myself that I cant be out there helping the guys,” said Pouncey.

In an effort to keep a positive mindset moving forward, Pouncey has not and will not watch the replay of his injury, according to Missi Matthews. I bet guard David DeCastro never wants to see it again, either.
