Steelers Injury Report: Beachum And Gilbert Practice Fully After Being Limited Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their Thursday injury report following their practice and it includes some very good news.

After being limited on Wednesday, tackle Kelvin Beachum (ribs), tackle Marcus Gilbert (quadricep), tight end Richard Gordon (toe), defensive end Brett Keisel (ribs) and tight end Heath Miller (not injury related) all practiced fully and all look to be on course to play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Practicing fully for a second straight day were wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (abdomen), defensive end Cameron Heyward (illness), linebacker Jarvis Jones (concussion), linebacker Lawrence Timmons (hand) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (knee).

The only player to sit out practice was wide receiver Markus Wheaton (finger), who has already been ruled out for the Raiders game.

When is Markus Wheaton going to return? Did he lose several fingers?

    Good news indeed

    Any update on Spence ?

Why is it that Timmons can practice with a broken hand and can even play this Sunday but Wheaton can’t practice with a broken pinky? Is it because of the position each player plays that makes the difference?

  • NW86

Yes. Wheaton’s job is to catch footballs.
Plus, Timmons has a small fracture. Wheaton needed surgery.

  • dgh57

Yeah, I figured it out that’s why I changed my post.

Are the full contact practices possibly paying dividends? A very healthy team heading into week 8. (I’m really hoping I don’t jinx them with this comment!)

I want Beachum at LT and Whimper at RT It worked last week. Use Gilbert as a backup.
