Steelers Sign RB Ray Graham To Their Practice Squad

After working him out earlier in the day, the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to sign free agent running back Ray Graham to their practice squad on Tuesday. To make room for the University of Pittsburgh product, running back George Winn was released.

Graham was waived by the Houston Texans just last week. He had been on both their 53 man roster and practice squad ever since he was signed as an undrafted free agent back in May.

Winn had been on the Steelers practice squad since Oct. 22. Like Graham, he was once a member of the Texans as he was signed by them as an undrafted free agent back in May.

    I agree.

Very nice..was hoping George Winn would stick, but good move nonetheless

Graham and a couple of other Pitt players got away with assault on another student at Pitt last year shortly before the Notre Dame game. Because they were football players, they were not suspended and no charges were filed. It got quite a bit of attention at the time. Does anyone else remember that ?

    Yes 😀

sket on this pick up.. Why houston release him with the issues they have at RB.. not sure if he will stick here too… but hey… imma go sit on my couch.. LOL

  • Kevin Gobleck

Maybe they wanted room for a veteran RB instead

  • T R

Oh yeah Veteran RB are growing on trees.. just pick one.. LOL

  • Kevin Gobleck

Hey who knows maybe they felt like kicking Turners tires or something, just throwing out some ideas

  • 20Stoney

I do. Do you know that it happened for sure? I thought there was some question about whether it actually happened as reported?

  • 20Stoney

There’s a former Steeler starter out there for the pickin’.

  • HopalongCassidy

There were eyewitnesses to it who named Graham and the others.

At least it not a TE so might be a decent pickup .

Once you get past Ben Tate, all the backups are 5’9 200 guys, just like Ray Graham. One is the kick returner. He was the odd man out.

I still feel that he hasn’t fully recovered from the grusome knee injury he had in his Junior yr at Pitt. His combine numbers were below average for a RB, especially for a guy his size.
This Pittsburgh rehab staff is top notch. Here’s to hoping that upon coming back to familiar rehab and practice territory, that he regains that spring that made him so electric at Pitt.
Ultimately, it will be his own work ethic in practice and in continued rehab/conditioning this off season that will cause him to earn a jersey. I hope he picks up that from Antonio Brown….

Great pick up! the knee injury made his numbers look bad at the combine.
I think given a chance he will be a great asset to the steelers! This kid has the potential to star next season!

I know ray from Elizabeth I saw him play high school football and he was dangerous as a running back and he can still perform at a higher level if given a chance.
