Steelers Injury Report: Beachum Practices; Gilbert, Keisel, Hood, McLendon, Polamalu All Sidelined

The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night at Heinz Field and the first practice report for the week is now out.

Not practicing on Wednesday were tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), defensive end Ziggy Hood (ankle), defensive end Brett Keisel (foot), nose tackle Steve McLendon (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (shoulder). Video from practice showed Keisel and Hood both lightly jogging on the side.

Practicing fully on Wednesday were tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee), wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (shoulder) and guard David DeCastro (foot). Beachum was forced to miss the game this past Sunday, so it’s a good sign that he is now back practicing fully. As for Cotchery and DeCastro, both are expected to be good to go for the Bengals game.

Another good sign is the fact linebacker LaMarr Woodley is not listed on the injury report for the first time in several weeks. Woodley played 41 snaps this past Sunday and it appears that his calf problem is now behind him. At least we hope it is.

It would be nice to get a win over the Bengals, all hands on deck!

    Good news about Woodley’s health.

screw that … while i’ll be rooting for them to win, I wont be sad one bit with a good performance and a loss …. last thing they need is to move back to 17-18th again in the draft.

I understand the want for a higher draft pick, but I would much rather NOT get swept by the Bungels

Ya I could understand that too, but that doesn’t bother me … i guess to each his own. Bottom line our season is lost, would rather get the most benefits for next year, but definitely see your point. Personally my perfect scenario, would be to play as many young players as possible … play well and at least win one more game. and get the 10th pick.

I knew it, the minute we were realistically out of the playoffs everything pretty much comes up roses for the Steelers

It’s gonna be a challenge whether or not to keep Woodley next year for Jason but he’s likely to be a free agent next year with all the cap issues we have. Worilds is such a fantastic pass rusher.

I’m hoping we play the younger guys a lot! If we lose but get a good view of how the youngsters play I’ll be ok with that and a higher draft pick. If we play the same old guys and lose I’ll be pissed. If we play the current starters we better win!

We need to see Wheaton burn someone for a TD!

I would rather see as many young guys play as possible and have been saying the same for ages. Some times it works out well. I would prefer we lose a few close games while the young’ns show some promise. It might help make the draft process much, much easier if you think you can’t count on someone that’s already on the roster.

I hope they decide to start Mike Adams. He had solid play last week but it would be good to see if he is able to “stack” (he,he) a couple solid games together at LT…Maybe not all is lost for him.
