Steelers Offensive And Defensive Snap Counts From Week 14 – Dolphins

Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday 34-28 loss to the Miami Dolphins along with some observations.

In his first game back, tight end Matt Spaeth played 15 snaps and for the most part, he looked pretty decent.

As expected, LaMarr Woodley was on a pitch count of sorts and he played 41 snaps in total. Jason Worilds played every snap so that left 21 snaps left over for Jarvis Jones. Worilds also was a busy guy on special teams as you can tell.

Cortez Allen played every snap on Sunday opposite Ike Taylor and it appears as though he might be the starter moving forward.

The Steelers played a lot of quarters as Will Allen was on the field for 73% of the snaps.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Change from last week: Vince Williams saw all the snaps in the base D. None for Garvin/Sylvester.

  • steeltown

The time is now for Cortez Allen to be given full reigns, the extra playing time will go a long way in improving his overall readiness entering next season

  • NW86

Fangupo got 5 snaps in place of McClendon coming off the injury. Interesting that those snaps didn’t go to Al Woods. I wonder if that was the plan all along, or if it changed when Ziggy got banged up and Woods played some DE?

  • Tanner Blackman

What is the deal with S.Thomas? Why is he losing snap counts?

  • Jarod Wells

I was wondering the same thing? He was not all that bad when he saw the field. Yes he had bad moments, but they all have.

  • Shannon Stephenson

I think we are looking hard at him to see if Ike will not take a pay cut we will let him go but Cortez has to show enough to do so.

  • steeltown

Yea..and either way I see us drafting 2-3 DBs (2CBs and Safety)

  • Alex Kozora

The latter idea is correct. Fangupo got reps at nose tackle with Woods moving to LE.
