Steelers Offensive And Defensive Snap Counts From Week 16 – Packers

Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-31 Sunday win over the Green Bay Packers along with some observations.

As far as the offense goes, reserve tackle Mike Adams was actually used on four snaps as an extra tight end. With wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders out of the game for the entire second half, rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton was the beneficiary of extra playing time and as a result he was on the field for 28 plays. Fullback Will Johnson only played two snaps and that was a season low for him.

Defensively, Chris Carter played 57 snaps with Jarvis Jones sidelined with the flu. Also seeing playing time with Jones down was Stevenson Sylvester, who was on the field for 45 plays at right outside linebacker. Vince Williams played 15 snaps in the base defense, while Terence Garvin played 13 in the nickel before leaving with a knee injury.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Is this the first time all five starting offensive line men have played every snap this season? – that is a nice stat to see

Sylvestor actually had a decent game, I saw his number a few times around the ball making tackles.. I cannot say the same for Chris Carter

Im truly curious about what their plans are this offseason, if they let Worilds go they will almost certainly have to spend another early draft pick at OLB, if they retain Worilds they can just draft a mid-late project type guy

Looks like S. Thomas has taken a step back on playing on defense. Even Golden got in on at least one play. Nonetheless his STs play there towards the end of the game saved the day!

Will Allen took his job after Shark’s injury. Pretty sure he hasn’t played a down since…which is really dumb since Will Allen has declined after a couple good games and Ryan Clark started the season awful and actually got worse?
