Report: Jaguars Free Agent RB Maurice-Jones-Drew To Meet With Raiders

Jacksonville Jaguars free agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew is still looking for a home for the 2014 season and another team will be hosting him for a visit Thursday night and Friday.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jones-Drew, who visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the end of last week, is scheduled to meet with the Oakland Raiders to close out this week.

According to recent reports, Jones-Drew is looking for a team that will pay him around $3 million a season. Last season with the Jaguars, he rushed for 803 yards on 234 carries. He also chipped in another 314 yards via 43 receptions.

Jones-Drew just turned 29 this past Sunday and will be entering his ninth year in the league after being drafted by the Jaguars in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of UCLA.

Welcome to the black hole MJD. Where former good players go to end their career.

  • Virdin Barzey

If he want to get paid he’s going to the right place. If he wants to win, well, they don’t call it the Black Hole for no reason. Seems to me he wants to get paid. Good luck.

this guy just wants the biggest paycheck he can get. lets get blount and be done with this.

… and the management encourages “hey, go ahead and gain that weight back.. we don’t care!”

  • METAL_HAMMER

    I’d rather have Blount anyway.

  • Matt Manzo

His high school is like 10 minutes from Oakland. Hopefully he goes there and we sign Blount!

  • Jason White

That is probably one of the perks of Woodley’s contract. Unlimited free McDonalds delivered daily.

  • Brendon Glad

Well my goodness Oakland….you DO know that the new agreement has a floor on the cap number…don’t you? lol. So eventually they are going to have to sign people. I would expect mjd to be one of them, right? I was hoping we could work something out with him, but he does deserve more than the Steelers can or should offer. He probably deserves a bigger role than he’d have in Pittsburgh anyway. I think he is from there too…and grew up a Raiders fan, so if anyone can stomach playing for them, it probably should be him.

If the Raiders want him he must be done!!! Watch and see….Raiders will trade with Dolphins for Wallace!!

  • Rod Hedrick

Al Davis is looking down demanding someone to get Mike Wallace.

  • James Kling

    Signed.
