Steelers Free Agent WR Emmanuel Sanders To Meet With 49ers On Saturday

Pittsburgh Steelers unrestricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is really racking up the frequent flier miles this week and he’s switching time zones in the process as he continues to shop his services around the league.

Sanders, who met with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, will now reportedly meet with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Sanders’ jaunt across the United States started on Wednesday in Florida when he visited with the Jacksonville Jaguars. From there, the former third-round draft pick had a visit on Thursday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prior to leaving for Kansas City.

According to a Thursday evening report, the New York Jets also have interest in Sanders, but have not scheduled him for a visit as of yet.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Honestly, I think the 49ers might be the team that makes the most sense for Sanders. They’ve struggled to really find that clear #2 guy (Vernon Davis became the all-purpose target), and with Kaep, you have another scrambling QB…which Sanders is VERY used to.

Manny is looking for every possible dollar that he can squeeze out of his next team

Why be such a prick towards Manny? How do you know he is not just looking for the best fit? Would you just take the first job offer that came your way without regard to whether or not you fit in with the other folks and without regard to whether you were going to work for a company on the edge of bankruptcy versus one with rising profits and opportunities? M-m-m-m…maybe not.

I’d love to watch him as a 49er. I think it would be an upgrade over Mario Manningham. Hopefully he does well and grant us a compensatory pick.

this might be a pretty good fit … i do like him there over manningham … and he is VERY different than Crabtree or Boldin … i think he complements them both really well … like this move by the 49ers if it is at a relatively reasonable price !

Most FA’s seem to accept an offer after a couple of visits. Sanders seems to be visiting every team in the league. I wonder why? Is he not getting the offer that he thought was out there for him?

  • Game_Time

How many other free agents have you ever seen visit this many teams teams ?

  • Shannon Stephenson

That was my first thought as well…with a deep WR class and still several other decent WR’s in the FA pool the offers maybe a tad bit thin
