I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Still surprised by the 2nd ILB selection. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the notion of having a kid like Zumwalt on roster, but damn we need outside depth

    Overall, Love this Draft

  • CW

Hoping the first post draft call on UDFAs is Jackson Jeffcoat.

  • steeltown

    I concur

Couple of thoughts. We know Timmons can play outside in a pinch. Moats also has some experience playing outside. Shazier is a little undersized, but played there in college. That gives us reasonable depth outside. You get a significant injury you can take one of those guys and kick them outside.

  • steeltown

Definitely. I’ve been thinking of that, we have tons of versatility, but I do not want to move Timmons outside again, he’s too valuable inside. Moats yes, he will be an OLB for us no doubt and Shazier will probably be a bit of everything.

  • cp72

What about teaching Vince Williams play OLB? He’s great going forward. Let’s cut him loose on the quarterback. He just has so much heart I want to find a spot for him.

  • steeltown

    I like him too

  • CW

    I concur.

Hoping for these UDFAs for the Steelers to add some potential pass rushers, maybe add a contributor or two to the secondary, offer another tall wide receiver prospect, add some depth to the lines, and finally throw in a special teams player as well as a camp arm to push Landry Jones.

    DE/OLB Jackson Jeffcoat
    DE/OLB James Gayle

CB Marcus Roberson or CB Loucheiez Purifoy
    CB Gregory Ducre
    CB Rashaad Reynolds

    WR Brandon Coleman

    OT/G James Hurst
    DT DeAndre Coleman

    FS (Special Teams/backup) Daniel Sorenson

    QB Jeff Mathews

Would hate to bury a kid like Williams in the depth chart. Give him an opportunity to see the field and he will continue to improve. I don’t think we’ve come close to the ceiling for him.

  • Jide Sobamowo

Looking at footage of McCullers against Bama with Womack and company this kid held his own. Not a finished product as none of this kids are, but once again if this kid can maintain sound knee-bend and leverage our defense will be stout for years to come. He’s the one I’m most excited about when it comes to 2014 class. Hopefully he can continue the tradition of Steeds and Big Snacks..

  • Jide Sobamowo

Kid looks like he can really provide depth at ILB and OLB. Could be a Chad Brown swing-type backer if he pans out. Looks like he will be a contributor at SP from day one like alot of these guys. Solid back that provides depth.

  • Jide Sobamowo

VW has no-range which is why he’s not considered a three down backer, hence the Shazier pick. He has physical limitations to be OLB.

  • Jide Sobamowo

Definitely we should be on the phone with Gator Boys (Especially Roberson).

  • Agustin-ARG

Great draft, exc picks. And if Spence can play…

  • Matt Manzo

Jeffcoat, Reynolds, And both Coleman’s for sure! That’d be the best udfa class ever!

  • CW

Granted it was always wishful thinking.

  • joed32

    Could his initials be J.H.?
