Contract Numbers For Steelers DE Brett Keisel

The numbers of the two-year contract extension signed a few days ago by Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel are now in.

Brian McIntyre reports on Twitter that the contract totals out at $3 million just like Mike Prisuta of DVE Radio reported on Wednesday. Keisel, however, only received a $500,000 signing bonus.

Keisel’s base salaries for years 2014-2015 are scheduled to be $1 million and $1.5 million.

In reality, this is a one-year, $1.5 million deal as it’s unlikely Keisel will be retained next season. If he is released next offseason, he will carry a measly $250,000 dead money charge.

Below is a break down of the contract along with the cap charges based on those numbers.

2014 $1,000,000.00 $250,000.00 $0 $0 $1,250,000.00
