Season 6, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I both weigh in with our final thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the New England Patriots Thursday night now that we’ve gone through the tape a few more times.
As expected, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady got rid of the football very quick Thursday night and the Steelers defense certainly had no answer for that.
We point out that our original thoughts on the 2015 Steelers team really haven’t changed after just one game and that their next three matchups really should give us a better barometer as to whether or not this team can compete for a playoff spot this year.
Will cornerback Brandon Boykin see time on defense in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers? David and I both think that should happen. We also make sure to highlight the few Steelers players who we thought played well Thursday night in the loss.
Is Dri Archer destined to be released in a few more weeks? We discuss that possibility in the middle of the show and also speculate as to when rookie Sammie Coates might actually start receiving a gameday helmet.
We move on to discuss how the three other AFC North teams looked on Sunday as only the Cincinnati Bengals came away with a win. Are the Baltimore Ravens headed for a disappointing 2015 season? We think so and it certainly won’t help that he lost linebacker Terrell Suggs for the remainder of the season on Sunday.
The St. Louis Rams looked like they are ready compete for a playoff spot on Sunday and their defensive front seven could potentially cause the Steelers a lot of problems in Week 3.
We end the show by taking a look at a few of the other games that took place on Sunday as Week 1 comes to close Monday night with two games on the schedule.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here.
