William Gay, Antonio Brown Praised By PFF

As the regular season officially comes to a close, we’re able to take a moment and reflect on some of the remarkable seasons those around the NFL have had. And the stat mavens over at Pro Football Focus have some positive words for William Gay and Antonio Brown.

They cite Gay as the only starting CB not to allow a TD pass this season.

For what it’s worth, that is backed up in our defensive charting we do on a weekly basis. Chris Harris was part of that group until Brown beat him twice in Week 15.

Gay is set to be a free agent after the season but figures to be the team’s highest priority to re-sign. After once testing the free agency waters, signing with the Arizona Cardinals several years ago, it seems likely he’ll want to finish his career out in Pittsburgh.

Speaking of AB, PFF spoke even more highly of him. His regular season grade is the highest for any receiver that they’ve ever evaluated.

Brown finishes the season tied for the league lead with 136 receptions and second in yards with 1834. Steelers’ fans, of course, know just how good Brown has been this season without taking a statistical approach.
