The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Giants Preview With James Kratch, Tomlin Tuesday Recap & More

Season 7, Episode 48 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about what a big test the Pittsburgh Steelers will have this Sunday at Heinz Field in their Week 13 game against the New York Giants.

Head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday so David and I go over the team’s injury report in addition to breaking down several talking points coming out of his media session.

Who will be the odd man out in the outside linebacker rotation now that Bud Dupree is expected to play more moving forward. We discuss that topic as well as Dupree possibly lining up more on the right side. If linebacker Arthur Moats winds up being the odd man out, will he be back in 2017? We discuss that topic as well.

Tomlin had some interesting comments about the team not using more dime defense so far this season so we dive into that topic and discuss why he passed along some seemingly faulty statistics. More semantics by Tomlin, or was he just not being transparent when it comes to the use of linebacker Lawrence Timmons on obvious passing downs?

Tomlin also gave us a few other juicy nuggets to discuss and we do just that.

In the second half of this show we are joined by James Kratch, who covers the Giants for NJ Advance Media. As usual, we get insight from our guest on the Steelers upcoming opponent ahead of Sunday’s game.

If you are not doing so already, please follow James on Twitter at @JamesKratch and read his work online leading up to Sundays game here: http://www.nj.com/giants/.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Seattle fans stand the whole time and make noise. It’s not just screaming.

Good point on Eli coughing that ball up if you can get sacks. We need JWobble to have a big game up the middle. That is one place where their line struggles. And thir guards are all hurt.

Great podcast guys and I usually don’t comment on the guest but I liked James. I don’t know if it is because the last 2 were so down about their teams or whatever but he was definitely a breath of fresh air.

I have a really good feeling about this game and the rest of the season for that matter. It was back during the Browns game but I thought that was going to be the pivotal game in the season. We were either going to continue an ugly trend and slip up vs Browns team we should easily beat or we were finally going to take care of business and that would lean to a nice run leading up to the playoffs. Just a gut thing but I think we are going to finish out the season handling these teams pretty well.

I’ll make my bold prediction and say we are not only going to win out but no game will be closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

How is Sammie supposed to go back and fight for the ball if he can only catch passes over his shoulder right now?
