The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Dolphins Preview, Ajayi Vs. Bell, Timmons, SI Article & More

Season 7, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I start things off by talking about the recent cover story by S.L. Price about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and whether or not it has any real substance to it.

Ahead of the Steelers Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins a beat writer covering the opposing team has been on Twitter seemingly trolling fans of the black and gold and especially when it comes to running backs Jay Ajayi and Le’Veon Bell. We go over some stats related to both players because of that.

Will Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons be back in 2017? We address that topic in the middle of the show.

We recap the Steelers regular season on both sides of the football and discuss if they should be looked at differently when measuring them over an entire season.

Will the Steelers 2016 season be considered a success if they only beat the Dolphins on Sunday? David and I address that topic and go over our preseason NFL predictions.

We close the show by quickly addressing a stat related to Roethlisberger that surfaced Wednesday morning on

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

SL Price also wrote a book about football and Aliquippa have not read – has anyone read it?

Can’t hear the audio from Dave Bryan. David Todd’s audio is fine.

  • Steel B

Past 2 TP will not play in Google Chrome.

  • falconsaftey43

Weird audio mix. Bryan in one ear, Todd in the other.

  • srdan

They have for me bud. Maybe you’re doing something different. Try clearing your cookies.

  • srdan

It’s not in stereo. Bryan is on my left ear, Todd on the right.

Kinda like the devil vs angel on your shoulder. You choose sides.

  • Steel B

What could I be doing different?? Click the play button then it is suppose to play. Not rocket science.

  • srdan

I love The Terrible Podcast, and I’m glad that Dave and Dave addressed the SL Price article for the smear job that it is. However, David Todd’s comment about a Judeo-Christian society and the irony of Judeo-Christians not being very forgiving is, well, pretty ironic. I am a Christian and can personally attest that there are indeed a lot of Christians that are not nearly as forgiving as their faith calls them to be. But to insert this jab into a defense of Roethlisberger is poor taste. The whole point is that Ben is being attacked for something that happened almost a decade ago and has not done anything specific to warrant the criticism from Price. So Todd decides to smear Christians for their non-specific forgiveness. Come on.

About Hines and the HOF: I remember reading shortly after his retirement that during his career, running plays averaged 1.5 yards more with him on the field compared to when he was off it. I haven’t been able to find this stat in print since, so I’m guessing it was part of the 62.43 percent of statistics that are made up on the spot, but does this sound familiar to anyone? I’m trying to think of other ways to try to qualify *some* of Hines’ other qualities.
