Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media following the 34-24 loss Sunday at Heinz Field to the San Diego Chargers and during his press conference he gave a quick recap of the injuries suffered in the game.
Left guard Willie Colon (knee) reaggravated his left knee injury that he suffered several weeks ago and was unable to return to the game. Although Colon did dress for the last two games, he did not play and he admitted last week that the knee had to be drained a couple of times.

The San Diego Chargers have completed their Friday practice session as they now prepare to fly to Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field and their final injury report of the week has now been released to the media.
Linebacker Donald Butler (groin), tackle Jeromey Clary (knee), and wide receiver Eddie Royal (hamstring) are all listed as out after not practicing the entire week.
Guard Tyronne Green (hamstring) also failed to practice the entire week and is listed as doubtful while tackle Mike Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable after he also failed to practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers have put the wraps on their Friday practice as they prepare to host the San Diego Chargers Sunday at Heinz Field and the final injury report of the week is now out.
Not practicing again on Friday was linebacker LaMarr Woodley (ankle) and he has been officially been ruled out for the game Sunday along with tackle Mike Adams (ankle) and cornerback Ike Taylor (ankle).
With Woodley out Jason Worilds will make his second consecutive start at left outside linebacker. Cornerback Cortez Allen will make is first career start in place Taylor opposite Keenan Lewis in the Steelers

The San Diego Chargers continued their practice preparations on Thursday for their Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field and their second injury report of the week had only one minor change on it.
The Chargers decimated offensive line remains decimated as tackle Jeromey Clary (knee), guard Tyronne Green (hamstring), and tackle Mike Harris (ankle) all sat out again on Thursday and all three will most likely miss the game Sunday.
Also not practicing for a second consecutive day for the Chargers were linebacker Donald Butler (groin), and wide receiver Eddie Royal (hamstring).

Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Willie Colon has been active for the last two games but he didn't play in either of them. He hopes to play this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, but currently considers himself a game-time decision after practicing fully on Thursday.
The Friday prior to the game against the Cleveland Browns Colon showed up on the injury report as probable with a knee injury after practicing on a limited basis that day and it was thought that he had injured it in practice.

The Pittsburgh Steelers continued practice preparations on Thursday for their game Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field and the Thursday injury report is now out.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told Teresa Varley of steelers.com on Thursday that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field after missing the last three games with a shoulder and rib injury.
Roethlisberger practiced fully for a second straight day on Thursday sand Tomlin told Varley that he as comfortable enough with what he has seen from his quarterback the last two days to say that Roethlisberger will start this week.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu told the media on Thursday that the calf injury that sidelined for 7 games was to a different muscle than the one that he suffered in the season opener against the Denver Broncos the first game of the season.

It has been over a week now since the Pittsburgh Steelers placed second-year tackle Marcus Gilbert on injured reserve with an ankle injury and head coach Mike Tomlin said at that time that surgery was an option.
According to Gilbert on Twitter, that surgery has now taken place and his rehab is presumably now underway.
Gilbert injured the tendon in his right ankle way back in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans and was flown to North Carolina to have a specialist look at it. At that time it was deemed that the Florida product didn't need surgery so the Steelers gave him several weeks to see

The San Diego Chargers have now wrapped up their Wednesday practice as they prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field and their first injury report of the week is now out.
The Chargers offensive line was decimated by injuries this past Sunday in their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Wednesday injury shows the aftermath as tackle Jeromey Clary (knee), guard Tyronne Green (hamstring), and tackle Mike Harris (ankle) all sat out the first practice of the week. According to reports, only Harris has an outside shot to play of the group.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field on Wednesday as they prepare to host the San Diego Chargers Sunday at Heinz Field and the first injury report of the week is now out.
As reported previously, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (rib,shoulder) looked good on Wednesday and the signs are pointing to him being able to start Sunday as long as his body responds well the rest of the week. Roethlisberger is listed as practicing fully on Wednesday just the same.

The news is good on Wednesday for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Wednesday during an impromptu talk with the media that he saw all that he needed to see from Roethlisberger during practice.
Mike Prisuta of the DVE Radio reports via Twitter that Tomlin said Roethlisberger made all the necessary throws on Wednesday during practice and that the only hurdle to clear now is how the body of the Steelers quarterback responds to the work.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Tuesday for his weekly press conference to talk about the win Sunday over the Baltimore Ravens and the upcoming Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers.
Tomlin also addressed the injury situation in his opening remarks and said fullback Will Johnson (concussion) did suffer a concussion on Sunday and has already started the process of going through the needed battery of test to play against the Chargers. He might be limited in practice early in the week, but Tomlin said that he is moving in the right direction.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting Tuesday on Twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers are expecting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to return this week and start Sunday against the San Diego Chargers after missing the last three games with an injured rib and shoulder. Roethlisberger, who was only able to accomplish some light throwing in practice last week, was still experiencing some soreness heading into last weekend, but several reports since suggest that he was feeling better at the beginning of this week.

Maybe the fibula injury suffered by cornerback Ike Taylor Sunday in the win over the Baltimore Ravens will keep out a very extended time after all as John McClain from the Houston Chronicle is reporting via Twitter that free agent cornerback Stanford Routt will work out for the Pittsburgh Steelers today.
Routt, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this season, will also work out for the Houston Texans on Tuesday in addition, according to McClain.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said after the 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens that starting cornerback Ike Taylor suffered a right lower leg or ankle injury early in the game and that further test would be needed to determine the seriousness of it.
Mike Florio of PFT is now reporting that he was told by a source that Taylor suffered a right fibula injury that could sideline him anywhere between 2-6 weeks. Taylor never returned to the game after leaving during the Steelers first defensive series and was shown wearing a boot on his right ankle and lower leg later in the game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers knocked off the Baltimore Ravens 23-20 Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium and head coach Mike Tomlin updated the injury situation following the game.
Tomlin said cornerback Ike Taylor, who left the game during the first defensive series, suffered a lower right ankle or leg injury and will need an MRI. Tomlin also said that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders suffered a shoulder joint sprain, but that he was able to return to finish the game. The Friday injury report for the Baltimore Ravens shows very little change from the Thursday report as they prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Cornerback Jimmy Smith (abdomen) has long been ruled out and will not play.
Tight end Ed Dickson (knee) failed to work a third straight day and was listed as doubtful.

The Friday injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now out as they prepare to take ion the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Despite trying to throw this past week and give hope that there was a chance that he would play in Baltimore, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder, rib) was ruled out by head coach Mike Tomlin on Friday. Roethlisberger is reportedly still having problems with arm strength and hopefully another full week of healing will allow him to be ready for the game next week against the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field.
