Steelers RB Willie Parker may not play on Sunday against the New York Giants. Parker, who hasn’t suited up since injuring his left knee in the loss to Philadelphia, was very limited at what he could do at practice on Thursday. It appears more and more likely that RB Mewelde More will make his third straight start at running back for the Steelers. After practice the Thursday practice session, Parker refused to speak to reporters. Parker did practice Wednesday, but apparently suffered another setback because he hardly practiced Thursday. Parker is likely to be held out of practice today.

Some very disturbing news this morning as Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. In June 2006, Holmes was arrested in Ohio in june of 2006 on a domestic violence charge, which was later dismissed. Holmes was also arrested in South Beach, Florida., for disorderly conduct during a Memorial Day weekend crackdown in 2006. Holmes was pulled over on a traffic stop because his vehicle matched the description given in a tip that said a dark-colored large SUV was carrying a large amount of drugs. Police Sergeant R. Griffith said that Holmes's vehicle

Here are transrcipts from both yesterdays Giants conference call with Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger. On the Giants injury front, Plaxico Burress has a shoulder injury and "kind of a stiff neck". Only a few things stuck out at me as I tripped around the Steelers news wire this morning.

Inside the numbers look at the win against the Bengals
An injury update says Troy Polamalu may have pretty bad concussion, Bryant McFadden may have a broken arm and Deshea Townsend's Achilles problem is still hampering him.

Opening comments ...
“It was a great win for our team today. To see the fans and the support we had here today was really moving, not only for me, but for everyone in the locker room. The game was typical for us and was something we were concerned with coming out of the bye with the quality of execution early on. The positive thing was that we played hard and we played fast, just not with the quality of execution. We also had a little rust. The guys didn’t blink and they continued. We didn’t change anything we were doing; we just have to do it a little better. We were able to get some

NFL owners were told that Steelers’ chairman Dan Rooney may buy out his four younger brothers’ shares in the Steelers by the end of this years.
The Rooney brothers had previously rejected an offer from billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller to buy their shares in September of this year. Their decision followed on the heels of a meeting that all five brothers attended with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in which Goodell made it perfectly clear that the NFL would do everything possible so that Rooney could retain control of the Steelers.
