In another war with division rival Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers ended up winning the AFC Championship Game 23-14 to advance to Super Bowl 43 to play the Arizona Cardinals. The game as expected was a hard hitting game, but the Steelers defense once again saved the day. Safety Troy Polamalu intercepted a Joe Flacco pass with 4:39 left in the game and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown. The Steelers offense looked shaky through most of the game after losing wide receiver Hines Ward to a knee injury in the first quarter. The Steelers started the scoring on the opening drive with a 7 play, 50 yard

The San Diego Chargers visit Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this evening. The Chargers will likely be without the services of running back LaDainian Tomlinson and will rely on a mixture of running backs Darren Sproles and Michael Bennett. The Steelers run defense is ranked second in the league, allowing just 80.2 yards a game. Quarterback Philip Rivers will look to work the ball into tight end Antonio Gates underneath and receivers Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers along the corners. They key to the Chargers on offense will be to get Sproles involved in the screen and keep the

The Pittsburgh Steelers streak of winning must win games came to an end on Sunday as the Tennessee Titans beat the Steelers 31-14 in Nashville. The Titans defense forced 4 turnovers without the help of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. The Titans offense also moved the ball against the Steelers number one defense and did not turn the ball over. The Steeler defense as a whole seemed very lackadaisical all day only showing glimpses at times and the Steeler offense continued to struggle running the ball once again. The win by the Titans assures them home field

Ravens backup cornerback Frank Walker acknowledged on Wednesday that he spit in the face of Pittsburgh Steelers punter Mitch Berger, but tried to play it off as an accident.
"It was just a slobber moment," Walker said today.
With 43 seconds left in Sunday's 13-9 loss to the Steelers, Walker got into it with Berger, who was the holder on the extra point after the touchdown. Walker said, Berger was upset when he thought Walker was trying to take out the knee of place kicker Jeff Reed.
Asked if he feels bad that the Steelers thought he did it on purpose, Walker said, "I don't care. I hate

The Pittsburgh Steelers survived a bloodbath of injuries and inconsistent play to beat the rival Baltimore Ravens 23-20 Monday Night. Jeff Reed nailed home a 46 yard field on the Steelers first possession in overtime. The game was marred with injuries for both teams, but more so for the Steelers.
