Below are the Adjusted Net Yards Per Passing Attempt Differential Stats from week 15 and you can see that the top 3 from last week, the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers, all saw their differential lower in week 15. The Texans dipped down now under the 3.0 mark and the Steelers dipped back under the 2.0 differential number. The Steelers dip is mostly because of the 3 interception, 3 sack and no touchdown night that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers as their defensive ANY/A just barely went up.
If it makes you feel better,

If you read my post on a regular basis you know of my fondness of the TOX stat and my new fascination with the Adjusted Net Yards Per Passing Attempt Differential Stat. Both are not new by any stretch, but neither are actively tracked. If you want to read up on the first post I did on ANYPPAD Stat I did in relation to teams making the playoffs and winning it all, just follow the link. Also here is the year to date of the stat last week as I will be tracking this for the remainder of the season.

It has been a while since I checked up on the adjusted net yards per passing attempt differential stat so I decided to research it and post the results. adjusted net yards per passing attempt differential is the difference of the adjusted yards per passing attempt on offense versus that allowed on defense. To get a true adjusted yards per passing attempt stat, we use the formula explained in a book called The Hidden Game of Football. That formula, as explained on Pro Football Reference, is: (pass yards + 20*(pass TD) - 45*(interceptions thrown) - sack yards)/(passing attempts + sacks). We do this

Below are the Steelers formation & personnel rushing and passing stats from the week 10 game against the Cincinnati Bengals along with the year to date formation stats through the first 10 games of the 2011 season.
I always like to disclaimer that formations are a little tricky as charters will count a wide receiver or tight end that line up in an h-back spot as a running back. I have been including the personnel stats along with these the last few weeks to help better paint a picture of both formation and personnel.
3 tight end personnel groupings did not have a good game as far as the

I was fooling around with some passing stats tonight, and more specifically first down stats, when I came across the stats for Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on 1st down and 10 this season. Heading into this season Roethlisberger has been a good career passer on 1st and 10 by registering a 63.3% completion ratio and a healthy 8.6 yards per attempt. His passer rating heading into this season on that down and distance was 92.3.
This year though through the first 10 games of the 2011 season Roethlisberger is way off his usual self on 1st and 10 as he has just a 58.4% completion percentage

Before we get too far past the Steelers bye week, I thigh I would post an updated penalty report through the Steelers first 10 games of the 2011 season. The Steelers have been flagged a total of 70 times through the first 10 games for 519 yards in penalties. The most common penalty of course is offensive holding and false starts as they account for 25 of the 70 penalties. Ike Taylor leads the Steelers team and defense with 6 penalties. Jonathan Scott leads the offense with 5 penalties.
In the tables below, they are broken down by game, by penalty and by player. The stats include declined penalties,

Year to date in head to head games the plus 2 teams are 85-21 and that keeps the winning percentage at 80% still on the year.
Teams with a mere positive TOX stat went 10-2 this week. Teams with a positive turnover differential went 11-2 overall and teams with a positive explosive play differential went 3-6 this week.
